Wood Wicks Candles
We love wood wicks for their crackling burn and modern looking wide flame, but all wood wicks require some maintenance. Wood wicks must be trimmed before relighting, or after 3 hours of burning. This will expose fresh wood to oxygen, and restore the flame to a healthy height.
How to trim a wood wick candle
Pinch off the charred portion of the wick after 3 hours of burning or each time you relight your candle.
Reusing your ceramic
Oven method
Place your candle in the oven on the lowest setting (150 degrees) until the wax begins to melt. Carefully remove the jar from the oven and pour the wax into the trash or compost (never down the drain). Use a spoon to gently remove the metal wick tab. Wash with warm soapy water.
We designed our ceramic candles with their next life in mind. Here are some of our favorite ways to reuse them:
Planter
Our ceramic jars are perfect for cacti and succulents (tip: they make great gifts!). Since there is no drainage, we recommend adding a thin layer of stones at the bottom.
Storage Container
Our classic-sized ceramics are great for organizing small items, pens, or makeup brushes. Our mini ceramics are perfect for storing table salt or spices.
Mug
Our ceramic jars are food-safe and can be used as mugs.
Refills are available for our 10.5 oz ceramic candles at our flagship store in Portland. Bring in your cleaned candle jars for a refill in any scent.
Refills are $26 for our signature line and $36 for Scents of Oreogn.
